Hands-On Workshops Pre-registration (Optional):
These free sessions are conducted in a computer lab and require pre-registration if you are interested.  In order to accommodate the high demand for these sessions, conference participants are restricted to participating in only one hands-on workshop.  Each workshop is limited to 15 participants. Concurrent sessions are held at the same time as these hands-on workshops. Registration is a first come, first serve basis and are subject to change.

Learn about a variety of free online tools that can be used to support teaching and increase productivity.  Participants will learn how to use Picnik to easily resize & and enhance images, how to use Voki to create a speaking avatar, and Viddler to record and encode video and others as time permits.

Engage in an inquiry-based learning experience using a variety of primary sources (photographs, audio recordings, motion pictures, sheet music, and print materials) from the Library of Congress. Hands-on activities will include the integration of free online tools such as Prezi, Google Maps, wikis, Voice Thread, and Wordle with primary sources, in order to promote critical thinking, questioning, and student engagement. The virtual doors tothe Library of Congress are open. Let us show you what's possible!
