Discord Chat (Wed, Thu & Fri)
Join Natalie Cole with a Slow Discord Chat on Accessibility
In this asynchronous Slow Discord Chat, we will problem-solve the issue of digitally accessible math in higher education. Digitally accessible math must be Perceivable, Operational, Understandable, and Robust by all users, including those with disabilities. Slow Discord chat questions:
• Faced with HB 21 1110, how are you solving for "motivation" when asking faculty to take ownership in creating digitally accessible math?
• Are the SMART boards? How are you creating digitally accessible resources to share with students after a synchronous lesson?
• Share your workflow! How are you "multiplying" digitally accessible math on our campus?
• Are you feeling like the square root of -1? Don't be imaginary – ask your digitally accessible math question.

Investigation and Documentation of accessible STEM courses at CSU
Greg Wells, Amanda Farmer & Jesse Thompson
When students see a STEM course, such as a math or science course, on their schedule, it may create stress or anxiety. Often students have had a difficult time with course concepts in the past, which may have created a negative learning experience. Our central question focuses around how the classroom atmosphere impacts the level of stress or anxiety for the students. Can faculty change the mindset and improve the learning experience of the students with positive and encouraging communication?

Creating Accessible Foreign Language Content Through D2L HTML Templates
Jennifer Maxwell
Creating accessible foreign-language content can be a challenging aspect of digital accessibility. All screen reading software needs to be able to differentiate when text switches language, in order to use the correct pronunciation and accent. This is an especially common instructional practice within an introductory foreign language course. However, by utilizing accessible D2L templates and learning just a few HTML tags, you can make your foreign-language content readable by a diverse group of students.
